People generally always use the services of a real estate agent when buying their home. However, when it comes to (possibly) the second biggest purchase of their life people generally don’t use the services of an auto agent or broker. Why?

Most people take on the responsibility for finding and buying their cars themselves. They feel that they know enough to locate and find a car and some enjoy the process. However, increasingly, people are using the services of auto brokers to buy their next car. Such a service is aimed at people who don’t have the time, knowledge or inclination to source their car to buy. Some feel overwhelmed by the car buying process.

Auto brokers usually have access to wholesale and auction stock that is not available to the general public. They can also help with finance and lease arrangements.

The broker can then match the vehicle to the buyer and present a list of potential cars to them. If the buyer likes any of the vehicles presented then the broker can proceed and complete the purchase for the buyer.

While auto brokers pride themselves on their clients not paying more than market value for a car, the main point of difference is the time saving to the buyer and the services provided.

While many people will always prefer to visit used car lots and find their next car themselves, do the inspection and negotiating, using an auto broker should be considered.
